At Intersections Therapy Collective, we believe in the transformative power of family therapy. Our approach is rooted in a collaborative and systemic model, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of family members and the importance of working together to address challenges. We understand that each family is unique, and we tailor our therapeutic strategies to meet the specific needs of each family unit.

Tom Roes, MSW, RSW (he/him) is one of our Associate Clinicians, a registered social worker, and psychotherapist in good standing with the OCSWSSW (reg# 836210).

2024 Fee Structure: $160 per hour for individual therapy, including children and youth sessions, and $190 per hour for couples & family therapy.

Professional Experience:

Tom has spent 15 years in the child welfare system, supporting children, youth, and adults of all genders and orientations. His passion lies in helping those touched by adoption, whether they’re adoptees, adoptive parents, or birth and kinship families. However, Tom’s expertise extends beyond adoption, addressing life’s various challenges, including identity, relationships, and self-discovery. He also assists clients with challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship struggles, grief, loss, and trauma.

Education & Training:

Tom holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Western University. He has also received the following post-graduate training, but not limited to:

  • Narrative therapy
  • ACT: An Adoption and Permanency Curriculum for Child Welfare and Mental Health Professionals © (Adoption Council of Ontario)
  • Cognitive behavior therapy
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy

Professional or Clinical Memberships:

Tom maintains an active professional membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW).

Clinical Supervision:

Tom is currently receiving an ongoing external supervision and participates in peer group consultations for professional development.
